Summary of the Project:
The objective of our project is to provide transition among different cultures. Music will be our means to be able to do that. Our project will let young people from four different nations and cultures come together and use music to make friendships. They will try to prove that music is the most effective tool for global communication and the project will form a good example for similar activities of the future.
The activity is to set up a music group to use the different colours brought from different countries and cultures by our participants in our national music, rhythm and folklore.
The action is not only making music. Music is just a tool. We have to break the prejudice about our country in Europe. This will be an investment for the future. Global sounds, popular songs and rhythms will help us to form a group which will be able to hold concerts in a short while. Group staff are interested in music as amateurs. We can realize our target at the Local Youth Festival held every year and is open to everyone from the inside and outside of Turkey. While the groups are making their national music, a song, composed collectively with the help of our partners, will be the concrete document of our intercultural target. 4 young people from Latoonia, 4 from Lithuania and 4 from Greece will participate the activity. The duration of the activity is thought to be synchronic with the Local Youth Festival. The Municipality of Balçova will try to reserve some time for our group on their festival. We are excited about singing, facing to our people, but with a group of people coming from different histories, geographies, cultures and perspectives. We know we have a lot to learn from them. But we believe we have more to teach them.
Financial Condition:
70% of international travel costs are covered by the Youth Program funds; this ammount will be reimbursed, presenting original bill and original travel tickets and boarding passes.
100% visa cost.
